This cake is not Japanese but looks like Japanese hishimochi. Hishimochi is a diamond shaped mochi (rice cake) for Hinamatsuri (doll festival on 3rd of March). It has three layers, which symbolise the early spring. Green as blast at the bottom, white as snow in the middle and pink as cherry blossoms at the top. Green layer of this cake is match (green tea) flavor.
